Question and Answers

Will I be able to pay on the gate?

As you have no doubt already noticed we have put a 3,000 ticket limit on the You’ve Been Nabbed rally. There are several reasons for this, including the fact that we just don’t get enough volunteer marshals to cover the event being any bigger (see info below). Last year we sold out well before the rally, so it is inevitable that some people this year will be disappointed at getting turned away.

I don’t know if the event will sell out in advance but I can say for certain that once we have sold 3,000 tickets nobody else will be permitted through the gate whatever sob-story they come up with! So if you want to guarantee your place at the event I strongly advise you to buy a ticket in advance.

Where is it?

The rally is at Astle Park, on the A535 Holmes Chapel Rd, Chelford, Cheshire. The nearest motorway access is Junction 18 of the M6 (Holmes Chapel), which is about 7 miles away.
Sat Nav co-ordinates are 53.258920, -2.276412 (53° 15' 32" N, 2° 16' 35" W). There's no postcode - it's a field! However, SK11 9AQ is in Chelford if your Satnav doesn't do geography.

What about Cars and Vans?

Most cars and vans will only be permitted on site if they have booked a vehicle pass in advance from the office (after giving a valid reason, eg bringing the kids etc). Vehicle passes will be £10.00 each.
N.B. We are not trying to stop all cars, the aim is to stop the scallies and non-bikers from coming.

Cars & Vans with a blue badge

If you have a valid blue (disabled parking) badge you will have no need to arrange passes in advance and there will be no charge for your vehicle (but the person whose photo is on the badge must be in the vehicle).

Caravans and Campervans

All caravans and campervans must book a pass in advance and they will be charged £30.00 (unless a valid medical need can be shown). This rule applies even if you have a valid blue badge. (The little ‘teardrop’ type of caravans people tow commonly with trikes are exempt from any extra charge or the need for a special pass).

Can I bring my own beer?

NO! Alcohol will not be permitted through the gate as we will be selling a good selection of beers wines and spirits at good prices on all three bars. Remember, this is a fundraiser for NABD, all profits from the bars help toward adapting vehicles for disabled riders. Also, glass bottles are not allowed in public areas.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs will not be permitted on site at any time (Except guide dogs). Please note that other disability/aid dogs will only be permitted by prior arrangement. This is non negotiable and anybody arriving with a dog will be turned away even if they have tickets.

Bike & Trike Show

Bikes brought in on trailers and trikes that are towed in will not be allowed to take part in the show on Saturday afternoon. So if you don't ride it, don't bring it.

I'd like to bring a trade stall

For trade and other enquiries, please call us on 0844 415 4849 during normal office hours, or email ybn20@nabd.org.uk

Your Hosts: -

Adults Only Marquee

rick and shaun

Host/Compére

Rick Hulse: The NABD Chairman will once again be the Host & Compere for the Adults Only marquee. Regulars will know what an unpredictable show that can mean but we live in hope that one day he will behave himself at least for ten minutes. You never know which personality will come to the fore with Rick. Will it be Professor Pierre O’Bollox (Mr Angry)? Will it be Mr Smacked Arse Comedy? Or will it be Mr NABD Chairman? Chances are that all three will emerge throughout the weekend (though all three at the same time would be a really neat trick).

Russ Page

Disco

The Russ Page Roadshow: Russ (the voice) is one of the best known and well-respected DJ’s on the bike rally circuit. His regular gigs include You’ve Been Nabbed, Autumn Nabd’ness, The Welsh Motorcycle Show and The Farmyard Party amongst many others. Last year he also added The Into The Valley rally to his list. Russ is a wheelchair user, which adds its own unique problems to DJ’ing at outdoor events, but being the consummate professional that he is, he has developed ways of dealing with these problems. We also have Russ to thank for the ‘enhanced’ lighting show in the Adult marquee.

Mulderrig’s Family MarqueeMad Boris Disco#

Host/Compére

Chris Booker

Disco

The Mad Boris Disco: Grav & Stu have been DJ’ing in our family marquee since it came into existence and I’ve still no idea why it works so well. They seem to have a mysterious talent for getting people into a frenzy of manic partying without having to try too hard. Mind you, just about everything Grav (The Dark Lord of Custard) does is a complete mystery to me, and to be honest I think I prefer it that way. Suffice to say Grav and Stu will be whipping up a storm yet again this year, and once again at their own insistence, they are doing it for no money.

Real Ale Marquee

Stevie Simpson

Host/Compére

Stevie Simpson: Stevie has been our resident host and compere on the Real Ale stage for the past few years and his inimitably receptive style has proven to be the perfect compliment to the more laid-back nature of the Real Ale Marquee. His natural ability to develop a rapport with an audience of bikers has made him the perfect host for this aspect of the You’ve Been Nabbed rally. Stevie also performed as host and compere at a number of other events last year including The Autumn Nabd’ness Family Marquee and “The BSH Big-Top” stage at the Farmyard party. Following on from this success; this year he has been offered the job as the resident host/compere of the Blues Marquee at the Farmyard party. In January 2010 Stevie also became the latest in an illustrious line of official “Patrons of the NABD”.

Creature

Disco

The Déjà Vu Disco Roadshow: You’re never quite sure who is in charge with Creature and Polly. Over the past few years Creature has established himself firmly as a resident DJ at the You’ve Been Nabbed rally. Creature’s magnificent fundraising efforts in support of the NABD over the past few years have also become legendary. But that isn’t why he got booked. He is booked for this rally because he is a bloody good DJ with a fine kit and an entertainer’s heart. (And Polly said she’d kill us all if we didn’t book him, and none of us want to tangle with a mad parrot).
Creatures own NABD fundraising event; The “Any Spare Change” rally is just one week after You’ve Been Nabbed and he will have tickets for sale in the Real Ale Marquee and on the NABD information stand. Do yourself a huge favour and get one, it’s an excellent rally only ten minutes ride from the BMF show at Peterborough.
