Alan Martin and his team at Martin Conquest Ltd have come up with the goods in a most spectacular way. Over the past two years I have been a regular visitor at their workshop in Cheshire, advising them on various design aspects of their unique trike and I have been privileged to see Alan Martin's dream become a superb reality.
Initially the trike was based on the BMW R850 but the recent announcement from BMW that they are soon to stop production of that model has meant that the Martin Conquest Trike is now based on the BMW R1100.
For wheelchair user who have any difficulty in transferring from a wheelchair to a trike this machine opens up the biker's world of freedom and independence. Its sleek space-age design ensures that it is first and foremost a big sexy trike.
I believe the Martin Conquest trike is the most exciting innovation of the past ten years for disabled motorcyclists.
As with all forms of adapted bikes and trikes there is financial help available via the NABD grant scheme subject to the usual terms and conditions.
