NABD was again present at the Welsh Bike Show at Builth Wells this year.

The display we put on was very effective and well received, mainly due to the support from Hank at Trike Design (01443 841793) in Cardiff, who organised, and

transported, two adapted trikes to the show so that visitors could see what is practically possible.

As Rick has said in a previous Open House editorial, “actually having something to talk about, and demonstrate, makes a huge difference”.

The show again attracted an increased attendance and we had a very busy three days talking to an interested and generous public, recruiting new members and accruing funds from donations, a successful raffle, and a lucky dip.

The highlight of the show was however a fantastic additional donation of £1,200 raised jointly by the show organiser Steve Bennett, and Gary White of ‘Far Canal T-shirts’. It came as a complete surprise when it was presented on stage late on the last evening causing me some unexpected public exposure (and embarrassment), but also allowing an appropriate ‘thank you’ to be said.

All in all a great weekend. Thanks go particularly to Vaughan Gwilliam for letting his very tasty Harley trike to be fingered by the public, Mandi and Neil for their support on the NABD stand, and the show organisers for looking after us and allowing us to show people what the NABD is all about.
