Russell was involved in a tree-felling accident thirteen years ago, which paralysed both legs and confined him to a wheelchair. Although he has a car, which has been adapted for him to drive, he had that irrepressible need to feel the wind In his face.

His answer was to buy a Kawasaki VN1500 from a local biker and have it triked with a linked braking system, lap and foot straps, and Kliktronic gear change, by The Trike Shop (UK) Ltd of Rumney in Cardiff.

Being a man of few words he summed it up quite nicely in just one sentence.

"Now I feel confident that this new independence availed to me with the help of NABD will enhance my lifestyle".
