David
died in a
motorbike
accident on
28 September
2002 and,
through our
undertaker,
we arranged
for
donations to
be made in
his memory,
to NABD.
David was
only 20.
Our
eldest son,
Matthew,
later
decided to
enter the
2003 London
Marathon as
a tribute to
David and to
raise more
money for
NABD.
I
am very
pleased to
be able to
inform you
now that
Matthew
completed
the
marathon,
which was
run on
Sunday 13th
April 2003.
It has taken
a while to
gather all
the
sponsorship
money and I
now enclose
the
completed
forms
together
with cheques
totalling
£700.
Matthew and
David were
only born
seventeen
months apart
and they
were very
close, so
Matthew was
extremely pleased
to run in
David's
memory. He
too is a
biker,
currently
running a
Kawasaki ER
500. Matthew
is now 22
and has just
completed a
Microbiology
degree at
Nottingham
University.
Donations
to NABD from
David's
funeral
totalled
£645 so,
together
with the
marathon
sponsorship
of £700, a
total of
£1,345 has
been raised
in David's
memory for
the NABD
cause, which
is very
pleasing for
us as a
family. We
will always
remember
David as a
dearly loved
son and
brother, of
whom we are
extremely
proud. We
are pleased
that part of
his memory
will be in
the form of
providing
help to some
of his
fellow
bikers.
Yours
sincerely,
Keith,
Maria,
Matthew
& Hannah
