Shadow Trike

Darren Cossey

Due to other commitments, I didn't fit the Kliktronic myself but sent it off to "Bikes and Trikes" in Southend (01702 - 213800) who wanted to use it as a guinea pig as he would like to get involved in the building or adapting of trikes for the disabled. He has also converted the rear brakes to work from one brake lever fixed to two master cylinders to work brakes independently at the same time.

As you can see by the photos, I do still have more work to do on her to get her back on the road for next spring - it will be nice to be out of a tin box (car) at last.

After my bike accident in August 1995 which left me a paraplegic, I never thought it possible to ever get a chance to be back on the open road and into the biking scene again. I have been to loads of bike meets, etc. but it is just not the same buzz turning up in a car. I started work for the first time since my accident last November and my soul aim was to get a trike.

I cannot thank you all enough at the NABD for enabling me to get that bit nearer to my dream of once again riding a bike or at least as near as I can get to it. I would love to get her up to the NABD rally next year.

Thank you once again.
